Do you want to tear down a wall and open up your home? Then we first have to find out if the wall is load-bearing or not.
We often get questions about load-bearing walls, wall investigations and replacement. Open floor plans are popular for creating a large, lovely area for community, such as joining the kitchen and living room. However, in older buildings it is common for walls to have to be removed to achieve this. Get in touch with us and we will help you realize your dream of an open plan solution in a safe way!
Wall investigation, so you know what kind of wall it is
By carrying out a wall investigation, you can identify potential risks and ensure that all changes in the home are in line with current building standards and regulations, e.g. if it concerns a condominium association. Read more about wall investigation here.
Variation of load-bearing wall
Making a change means that we redistribute the loads from the floors and roof above, so that they are safely led down into the foundation. This is usually done to create a more open floor plan.
Example of Variation
We recently helped a customer remove interior walls and replace a load-bearing wall with a steel beam, see picture. We carried out the wall investigation, the construction calculation for the dimensioning of the steel beam and the calculation of the loads.
